Chandni Rajesh Mr. LeRoy Honors U.S. History (4A) 10/19/15 U.S. Honors Pre-WWI 1. Bismarck s foreign policy was entirely based on preserving his power and Germany’s throughout Europe. After 1870 he was against the idea of expanding Germany and believed that the country was â€Å"satiated.† Instead, Bismarck wanted to keep the peace among European countries rather than engaging in war, therefore keeping Germany safe from attack. He planned to do this through the use of gaining european alliances which included Austria-Hungary, Italy, and Russia. â€Å"Believing that France would remain Germany s enemy because of the annexation of Alsace-Lorraine, an action he had opposed because of the enmity it would cause,† he left France isolated (Germany-†¦show more content†¦In contrast to Bismarck, Kaiser believed that in order to keep Germany in power and prevent them from defeat he had to build and strengthen a navy as strong as, if not stronger than England’s. In all, Kaiser’s end goal was to make Germany the strongest country in power out of Europe, whereas Bismarck was content with having good relations with different European countries but also maintaining his own power throughout the land that he owned. Bismarck’s decisions and policy effected the first World War when he used a series of conflicts to bring Germany together but also create several enemies. One of these enemies being France played a big part in World War I later because Germany took the former French territory of Alsace- Lorraine. This conflict that took place during the time of Bismarck’s reign gave France a motive to fight against Germany. Wilhelm on the other hand played a far bigger role in the war. Because of a quarrel amongst Serbia and Germany, he asked Austria- Hungary to attack Serbia and thus pulling Britain, France, and Russia into the war (â€Å"Firstworldwar†). his aggressive tactics and need for power created many enemies and caused the German Empire to lose a lot of power leading up to the war. 2. The war especially hit hard on the Russian military. Russian military was defeated time and it me again, and the costs were high to maintain the forces. There are many myths regarding human sexuality. Ranging from sexuality to anatomy to sex, there can be a lot of confusion that people have. In our country, even more people have myths because most states don’t require a sex education class. This leads to rumors being circulated about our sexuality. The two myths that I will be discussing are over woman experiencing pain when they first have sex and being born gay or straight. First learning about sex as a girl is frightening. The biggest thing I took away from my small sex education class and literature that I have read is that every woman’s first time is very painful and there will be bleeding due to the hymen tearing. Hearing that was scary. I thought sex was supposed to be fun, not uncomfortable and unpleasant. As I got older, I became more active on social media and learned much more about sexuality. I was surprised to find that most woman don’t actually bleed during their first time. According to Dr. Sara P atterson-Brown (1998), about 63% of women did not bleed when they had intercourse for the first time. For the longest time I was worried about what would happen when I first had sex and how painful it would be. Me learning that it might not be painful and that bleeding will not necessary happen has removed some of that pressure that I will face.
